What is Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been practiced successfully for over 5000 years in the treatment and prevention of disease. It involves the insertion of fine needles in various sites on the body to alleviate pain or for therapeutic purposes. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture points are situated along meridians (channels) in which qi (energy) flows. By placing needles in specific acupuncture points, we can influence the flow of qi (energy). Free flow of qi is important for the balance of the bodies internal systems and therefore ones well being. click here to view conditions treated by Acupuncture
