PRE MENSTURAL SYNDROME
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is the cyclic recurrence of a group of symptoms that peak 7 to 10 days before menstruation and disappear a few hours after the onset of the menstrual flow. Symptoms can include: breast tenderness, transient weight gain, bloating, constipation, insomnia, acne, headache, pelvic pain, irritability, depression, mood swings, poor concentration, social withdrawal, and appetite changes. Most women experience mild symptoms of short duration, other women have more severe symptoms that last for many days and temporarily disturb their normal functioning.

PMS is due to unbalanced hormonal fluctuations. A mixture of correct diet, adequate exercise, along with acupuncture helps remove the energy  blockages cause these excessive hormonal fluctuations. It also provides deep relaxation that helps to calm the mind.

IRREGULAR PERIODS
From a Chinese medicine viewpoint, irregular periods are ones that come at irregular intervals. Most womens cycle occurs every 28 or 30 days and lasts anywhere from 3 to 7 days. Every woman’s cycle is a bit different. You may get your period every 21 days or every 35 days, but as long as they occur with roughly the same number of days between each cycle, they are regular.

INFERTILITY
Acupuncture for infertility is probably the most popular and commonly recognized alternative treatment for those trying to get pregnant Acupuncture is one of the most popular forms of alternative medicine used to improve fertility. Acupuncture can be used to assist fertility or be combined with fertility treatments  such as IVF IUI .According to Traditional Chinese Acupuncture,  we have channels of “energy” called meridians that run through our bodies. Stagnation in the flow of these energy rivers is like a dam that is backed up

This disruption of energy flow can lead to physical and emotional illnesses, including infertility. These meridians can be affected by needling specific points, also known as acupuncture points. By needling the acupuncture points, the flow of the energy gets “unstuck” and is allowed to flow in a free and balanced way.

Other reasons it is thought to help for fertility are

  • It increases blood flow to the uterus, leading to an improved endometrial lining
  • Reduces stress and anxiety levels
  • Possible improvement in sperm count and quality in men with infertility
  • Possible regulation of hormones during the menstrual cycle which in turn could help regulate ovulation
